If you’d like to become an EMDRIA Certified Therapist, you’ll need to complete 20 hours of consultation in addition to the 10 needed for EMDR Basic Training. Please note that 10 of these hours need to be done individually rather than in a group. I am able to provide all 20 of the required hours for you. While you are not required to have this additional certification to conduct EMDR therapy, it can greatly benefit you and enhance your EMDR work.
As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, I am able to provide you with consultation hours needed for Part One and Part Two of EMDR Therapy Training as well as for EMDR Certification. I offer both group and individual consultation sessions. The 1-hour individual consultation sessions are via video, or in person at my office.
Consultation provides an opportunity for the integration of the theory of EMDR along with the development of EMDR therapy skills. During consultation trainees receive individualized feedback and instruction in the areas of case conceptualization, client readiness, target selection, treatment planning, specific application of skills, and the integration of EMDR therapy into clinical practice. Consultation is about real cases and not experiences that occur in practicum.
Consultation increases the use of EMDR therapy by those who have received training, reduces the formation of bad habits and the risks of problematic use of EMDR. It also allows the clinician to develop and integrate EMDR therapy skills creatively into their other skills in a way that enhances clinical efficiency and effectiveness in helping a wider range of clients meet their goals for change.

I work with the Institute for Creative Mindfulness to provide consultation for Part One and Part Two of EMDR Therapy Training. Completing these two parts allows you to practice as an EMDR Trained Therapist or EMDR Practitioner. To get this certificate, you must complete 10 hours of consultation. I am able to provide all 10 hours for you, either in a group or individually.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your journey to become an EMDR Therapist!
